Mountain Mine, Allihies dist., co. Cork, Ireland
A historic locality, the Mountain Mine was first mined for copper during the bronze age, but large scale mining operations began in the 1850s. The mine consists of an engine house, mining slope, and waste area. The locality is most famous for its crystalline crusts of Langite and Brochantite formed after the area was mined.
