Searles Lake, San Bernardino Co., California
Located in desert California, the Searles Lake brine pits contain numerous halide minerals resulting from evaporation, including Halide and Trona. The brine ponds fill in the spring before evaporating in the summer, leaving behind the characteristic Halite crystals. In cooler October, Enthusiasts and collectors visit the locality to collect specimens annually.
