Salammoniac
Salammoniac, occasionally referred to as Sal Ammoniac, is a halide mineral, primarily comprised of the compound Ammonium Chloride. The mineral varies widely in appearance, found in massive form and in crystals. The mineral is used in a variety of industrial applications such as cleaning metals.

In addition to being valued among collectors, Salammoniac, or Rock Salt, is a source of sodium.
Notable Localities
An Ammoniac mineral, Salammoniac occurs in several volcanic localities nestled in Italy, including at the crater of Mount Vesuvius.Blue Salammoniac has also been found in association with Lecontite in the Chuquicamata Mine of Peru.
