Lavrion Mining District, Lavreotiki, East Attica, Attica, Greece

The Lavrion District consists of a group of mines located in Southern Greece. The area has been mined periodically since ancient times, serving as a significant source of Silver, Lead, and Gold. Ores within the district are primarily lodged between layers of white Marble and Schist. Mines in the locality have been producers of a variety of minerals such as Smithsonite, Aragonite, Adamite, Dolomite, Epidote, Annabergite, and Chrysocolla.
